Please help ! - iPOD 20GB Wont Start OR Update OR Format.

When i try to turn my iPOD 20gb on it comes up with a folder and a exclamation mark with a link, then shuts straight back down. i have downloaded latest software and when i try ti use it i can only RESTORE. When i try to RESTORE the bar does not fill up. then an error message comes up saying cannot mount iPOD.

I do not have the option to update.

Please please help.

Yeah, the iPod does not manage to complete the Restore process. Please try to do a Reset, and connect it with another PC with iPod updater preinstalled.

You may need to plug your iPod with an AC charger to complete the process.

additional info

If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
-- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
-- Safely eject the iPod
-- Reboot the PC
