Q: My old contacts don't import from my SIM

I know iPhone does not store them there but nevertheless they are there (I checked) and I need them. Any ideas? Other than putting them in manually one by one...

All it does it asks me if: Import SIM contacts to Account - iCloud or From My Mac and imports my few existing contacts from the iPhone to the iCloud. I need the contacts already on my SIM to appear on my phone and later on my iCloud.
You want to select Import the SIM contacts to Account - iCloud.
This is where your iPhone contacts are located.
