How do I/ can I migrate a time capsule back up of my old macbook Pro to my new macbook pro?

Hi,

I am new to the time capsule world and I am wondering if I can and how I can use the back up my old MacBook Pro and import/migrate the files onto my new MacBook Pro?

Any help is much appreciated.

You will need a way of connecting the two computers together. Your old computer may have a Firewire port. The new computer has a Thunderbolt port for which Apple makes a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt adaptor. This enables you to useTarget Disk Mode to connect the two together.
