Mar 4, 2014 5:47 PM in response to Essendrupby John Galt,The usual remedy is to replace the hard disk. You need a standard 50 pin SCSI half height HD, but make sure to verify that after you remove yours.
Forget Norton, they still haven't gotten it right 20 years later.

Mar 4, 2014 5:49 PM in response to Essendrupby BDAqua,Does Disk Tools have a Zero one pass option? I remember using 3rd party tools to do that back then.

In fact, as I recall it could ruin a Hard Drive & make it impossible for any other tool to fix it... only useful thing it had was to force mount a volume so other tools could be used on the drive.

Mar 5, 2014 9:26 AM in response to BDAquaby John Galt,Some things never change, but Norton keeps on trying. Maybe in another 20 years.
At least Peter Norton was smart enough to cash out to Symantec, which he did immediately upon porting NU to the Mac. Like every product ported from the PC to this day, it was trash. He's probably been laughing ever since.

Apr 12, 2014 10:28 AM in response to John Galtby Joe from Hamburg (GER),Yep, that's it probably to replace the hard disk. Any SCSI I and SCIS II should work. SIngle partition are supported up to 2 GB. It's not a big deal to replace the HDD (I have done it too) but you need torx screwdriver with a long shaft to open the Mac. Once you have the Mac open you may also replace the PRAM battery (ebay).
Enjoy 8 Mhz technology!
