I just purchased more iCloud storage. When does the upgrade take effect?

Thank you for the response. I'm actually still waiting (3 days later) and will call them if its not updated soon. I also have recently changed my Apple ID & PW, maybe this has something to do with the delay? My iPhone keeps prompting me to type in my PW to my old Apple ID and although I signed in here with my new info, it has not changed in the Settings in my phone. I did verify my info via email confirmation. Sigh.....

If you changed your ID it will not automatically change on your phone. To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you have to temporarily recreate your old ID. To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Thank you. I've deleted the old iCloud Account and put my new info in Settings. I had recently purchased more iCloud space (under my old ID) and was waiting for it to be activated. Will the increased space be applied to my new ID? Or did I just purchase more space only to delete that account? When I checked my iCloud storage space it used to say that the "information was pending at this time". Now when I checked it, it's back to 5GB. I purchased an additional 10 three days ago under the old ID......

You're welcome. If you only changed your ID rather than creating an entirely new ID, it's still the same account, (just with a new name), and should still have the same storage. If you created a new account, it will revert to 5GB as storage upgrades cannot be transferred between accounts.

If it is the same account but you don't see the storage upgrade, try contacting the Apple online store at the number shown at the bottom of this page. They handle storage upgrade refunds and could probably explain what's going on.
