iPod Classic error screen issues

Hi, I have an 80GB iPod Classic. Not sure which gen. Every time I try to turn it on all I get is the apple logo like its turning on and then a screen with a red X in a circle and the website www.apple.com/support/ipod but I haven't found any useful info on the site that helps so far. The iPod is at least a couple years old and I cant afford to have it fixed or buy a new one 😟 Any suggestions???
