Printing problem with HP LaserJet Printer since Mavericks Installed

Hello,

I'm working on iMac and I have recently installed OSX Mavericks.

I have now printing troubles with my printer HP LaserJet P1102w.

Sometimes it prints, sometimes it doesn't.

When it doesn't print I often need to suppress the file in the printer task and then print again. And there it works.

I have tried to solve the problem by installing all the HP drivers, and also made a Reset printing system, but it does'nt change anything.

Any Idea ?

Thank you for any help.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

Select

/var/log cups error_log

from the hierarchical list on the left side of the Console window. If you don't see that list, select

View Show Log List

from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the time of the last failed printing attempt. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Thank you very much Linc Davis for your quick help.

I actually solved the problem by installing the new drivers (gutenprint-5.2.9.dmg and usbtb-1.0.17.uni.dmg) instead of HP's.

I used the video on this link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ1HnYwlDYU

Now I have un HP Laserjet Printer on OSX Mavericks very quick as it used to be with windows.

Thanks again for your help.

I am currently tracking down a problem with mavericks 10.9.4 and the HP 4700n. All of my Windows computers continue to print perfectly over the network and over usb (and none of my apple gear successfully prints over either anymore). This appears to have been caused by my decision to upgrade the 4700 to the most current firmware release.

any time we attempt to print from mavericks the printer prints the same page:

PDF Warning Page

Warning Number: 12.001

Warning Type: Unsupported PDF Version

Warning Description: Version Unsupported: Unknown

etc

etc

I am also getting some CUPS errors in the browser console which look like:

I've tried all the usual stuff and believe I'm running currently and reinstalled versions of all the Apple and HP software involved.

At this point I have both Apple and HP tech support involved in the problem.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

E [14/Mar/2015:08:22:53 -0400] [Job 305] Stopping unresponsive job Is the error I get. Printer is HP Laserjet 1320n on Mac Pro (Early 2009), 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, System Version: OS X 10.10.2 (set up as server). Printer is connected via cable to this computer on wireless network print sharing for network to use. Have same problem from all macs. Sometimes prints just fine, others looks like it 'prints' but nothing comes out of printer, other times it prints all but the last page. Thanks, for you help/ideas.
