Yes. Plug its USB and Mini DisplayPort cables into USB and Thunderbolt ports on the Mac Pro.

Hi,

Thanks for reply but it has usb, firewire 400, dvi and a narrow oblong connection (not MiniDisplay) now plugged in to the brick.
It seems there is no MiniDisplay to plug into the Thunderbolt ports on the mac.

Then it's not the Apple 27" display. It's a 30" (or maybe 23") display without its power supply. The narrow oblong connection is for the power supply.

To connect to a Thunderbolt port you will need a DUAL-LINK Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.

(If it's the 23", you can use a cheaper power supply and adapter.)
