What is the best way to clean the polyurethane smart covers?

Hate the polyurethane Apple "smart" covers, but for some reason Apple did not create leather smart covers for the iPad Air. I know there is a leather case for the Air, but it's too bulky. I like the smart cover concept, but the polyurethane gets really dirty and smudgy and gross.

What are best ways to keep this thing clean without ruining it? Thanks!

Hi DGL23,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

This page has some helpful tips for cleaning Apple products, including the iPad Smart Cover:

iPad Smart Cover and Smart Case—polyurethane

To clean your polyurethane iPad Smart Cover / Case, first remove it from the iPad. Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Wipe the front of the Smart Cover / Case and the inside with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dirt.

Don't use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean the polyurethane Smart Cover / Case.

Best Regards,

Jeremy
