Help please. I have an new Iphone 5c on Verizon. We've always had to dial *228 to update cell towers. I'm having signal problems & tried this on Iphone. It tells me "this number is not allowed". Advice please!

I've been told this command only works on iPhone 4s and below. I'd try a phone power cycle...home button and power button.

That is correct 4G devices no longer use *228
Try a Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
Why are you wanting to do the tower update manually?
The tower update is automatic with smartphones.
The PRL is updated all the time and on reboots it refreshes it.
With LTE, the communication is different and *228 is no longer used.
The reset solved my problem updating cell phone towers. Signal working great now, thanks!
