Q: after getting a new iPhone, and setting up email, I get an error when trying to add a new email account - the user name or password for imap.gmail.com is incorrect

after getting a new iPhone, and setting up email, I get an error when trying to add a new email account - the user name or password for imap.gmail.com is incorrect. I have even gone and changed my password in the account to be sure that I am putting in the correct password, but it is still coming up as an error message.

Any help please?

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
