Landscape Video Playlist

I have an old 3gs iphone and a new 5th gen Ipod touch. Now with the Iphone 3Gs you can make video playlist and watch them with the device landscape. I have tried to do the same with the 5th Gen Ipod and have found that i can watch the video with the device portrait but is very small and not worth viewing. When i then turn the device landscape all i get is a blackscreen but can still hear the sound. I havent got the rotation lock on.

If anyone has got some info on how I can sort this out that would be great.
