Will photo location services be 'lost' if i import pictures to Windows 7?

I need to free up space on an iPhone 5 (sprint, 64gb.) I frequently utilize the location services (places) feature of the camera roll.

If the photos are imported to windows 7, will the location information be saved with the imported photo? If the photos are deleted from the iPhone, is there a way to move the photos back onto the iPhone 5 and have the 'Places' sort feature use the imported photos?
