Mar 5, 2014 12:10 PM in response to cute7629by randers4,Go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account, then turn Contacts on (as well as any other data you want to sync with iCloud). Have you already done that but your contacts still don't appear on icloud.com?

Also go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section). Do you have the Default Account setting there, and if so, what is selected as your default account.

Mar 20, 2014 2:28 AM in response to randers4by shalakhani,Was following this thread in the hope that it would solve my problem but it appears to have stopped, so let me continue if I may. I have the same problem. As you advised I opened contacts and tapped on groups (I only have 2, iCloud and 'on my phone'). All of the contacts are in 'on my phone' and none are in iCloud.
When I went to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars, the default account in the contacts section was 'on my phone' which I have now changed to 'iCloud'. I need further instructions from this point to continue as I still don't have my contacts in iCloud. Thanks for your help.

Start by making a precautionary backup of your contacts by downloading the app My Contacts Backup. (If you have more than 500 contacts you will need the “Pro” version.) Use the app to back up thecontacts on your phone as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email. Then go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts off and select Delete from My iDevice when prompted. After a few seconds, turn Contacts on again and choose Merge when prompted. Go to icloud.com and confirm that your contacts are in iCloud now.
If your contacts are still not in iCloud, delete any contacts on your phone by opening the My Contacts Backup app, tap the gear-shaped icon on the lower right and in the window that opens, scroll to the bottom and tap Remove All Contacts. Then open the email you sent to yourself earler and tap the attachment to import the contacts back to your device, and to iCloud. Go to icloud.com and confirm that they appear now.

Mar 21, 2014 5:33 AM in response to randers4by shalakhani,Thanks for that. Just before I follow these steps, could you confirm that the same procedure applies for an iphone 4 which is the device I am using. I will let you know how I got on. Thanks.
