Never shut down an iMac using the power button!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Use the correct procedure of shutting down by select Shut down.... command. This command is located under the Apple graphic in the upper left of your display.

    First thenks for the answare.

I know wath uppen if i push for long time the power button and that's usefull only on emergency situation.

the problem is that until osx lion pushing the power button the "Shut Down Dialog" come out, whit Mavericks we suppose to wait 1.5 seconds for the dialog to come out. Now not even that, and i think was easier than go check for it with the mouse

Should only sleep if you hold for 1 sec and release

The shutdown dialog should pop up after hoiding for 4 sec (and if you continue to hold with the dialog box active you will force a shut-down (don't do that)
