Cant install mavericks on my hard drive, it says i have to register it

I had to once turn off the macbook( it got stucked so i turned it off by clicking the on/off button) and when i tried to turn it on it would show me a gray bar at the apple symbol and then would get turned off by itself. I erased everything in the mac since i saw it could be a hard drive problem ( i tried to repair it with disks utility but it didnt help) and when i tried to install mavericks it says that the hard drive "macintosh HD" isnt a mac plus and i need to get it registered. Help please.

I already did that. Thats why i erased the volume. The gray bar is not appearing anymore, when i turned it on it starts from the recovery disk and when i try to install mavericks it says that the volume i erased isnt a mac os plus so i cant install it there.

Choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as its format. If that's what you chose, explain the step from the above documents after which you are no longer able to proceed.
