Q: apple id problems in app store, iphone 5s

i just got an iphone 5s and i'm trying to update my apps. i have entered my correct apple id into icloud and store settings, but when i try to update apps it automatically switches back to an old one. i've been to settings and re-entered the correct id and password in icloud and store multiple times but it always reverts to the wrong one. how can i change this in a different way than before?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.6

    Content and Apple IDs -

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

thanks for your reply. i was just on the line with apple support, and it's true, the only thing i could do was go back to the old with a new password. it's a dumb policy of apple's, makes my life more complicated than less. c'est la vie.

The issue is that this is an anti-piracy scheme. This is Apple's agreement with the developers who are the content owners. When you buy content; apps, games, music, books, movies, TV shows, etc, your Apple ID is embedded in the licensed copy of the content downloaded to your device, your Apple ID is in the content's DNA. No one can use or update your content without your authorization or without hacking it. So that copy is licensed to that specific Apple ID. The only way to have licensed content with a new Apple ID is to delete the old content and buy new content with the new Apple ID embedded in the content.

well that makes sense, even though, as an end user, it is a pain in the butt. i've spent hours with support on the phone getting my itunes accounts in order, because i have credit cards in two different countries and so use two different stores. honestly, it's a mess. but we live in complicated times. c'est la vie i guess.

Same question. My old apple id is my old email address that no longer works. Now what?
