Stolen iPad!!!

My company has just opened a new programme that engages young learning with music. We purchased ipads for these learners to use Garage Band and other music apps.

When setting up these ipad they all had location services turned on and the Find iPhone app installed so that we could track and trace them if any were lost or stolen.

Today was such a day. One of the iPads was stolen much to our disappointment. I have logged into iCloud to track the ipad to find that the device that has been stole is no longer registered on Find iPhone!!

All students had access to the iPads and knew the passcode as they were using them on a daily basis.

Is there anyway for me to add this devices back onto Find iPhone or track it via the serial number.

Can someone please help???

What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen

iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad

If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.

If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

Hi Kappy,

Find My iPhone was installed on it all the ipads before they were released to the students and all devices were on the Find My iPhone device list. Since I was informed that the iPad was stolen I have checked the device list and the device is missing.

So they have more than likely removed the icloud account on the device. but does that mean its gone or is there something else I can do to try and find it?
