Ipad2 not charging

My Ipad2 is not charging. Its showing battery symbol with 4 red lines..thats it..i kept for charging for 48hrs with its orginal charger and also tried rebooting it..but when i connect it to my laptop its not even detecting my ipad..please help me..

First, try using a new cable and charger. This is the most common reason for charging issues.


You can also try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.


Try again to see if the problem persists.

iPads can be charged from a car as well as other sources as long as the charger or USB port meets or exceeds the 10 watt 2 amp required to charge an iPad. Any factory USB port installed in a car or head unit are probably lower powered and can not charge an iPad. Some newer Apple computers are capable as well as third party adapters as long as it states it is capable of 10watts or 2 amps.
