Create a new user account with full administrative rights. Log out of your usual account and log into the new one. Check the properties tab on the iTunes.exe file to see if there's a compatibility tab there. Make sure almost all boxes are unchecked ... but there ought to a be control in there on a Windows 7 system saying something like "apply changes to all user accounts". Select or check that, and click OK.

Log out of the new account and log back into your usual account. Can you launch iTunes without the compatibility error now?

Hi Have this problem too. I have full administrator rights already, but I did as you suggested and created a completely new user, to no avail. There is still no compatibility tab... do you have any other suggestions? I'm at my wits end! It's one in a long line of issues I'm having with itunes which ends with my phone being stuck in restore mode, I'm hoping if I solve each one in turn I'll get my phone back!

Thanks 🙂
