I can't make my iPhone ring when it's locked. I know it's in the settings somewhere but where?

Settings > Do Not Disturb = "Off"
Settings > Do Not Disturb = "Off"
Also Settings > Sounds > Lock Sounds = "On"
UPDATE - Please ignore this suggestion. I think it only turns on the clicking of a padlock sound.

The DND is off. When the screen is locked and I call my phone it vibrates only. In the DND settings under Silence I have 2 options Always and Only while the iPhone is locked. Right now the second option is checked and I can't uncheck it.
It's fine that you cannot uncheck the second option. Either "Always" or "Only while the iPhone is locked" will always be checked. But this explains the phone's behavior while DND is in effect.
You might try a phone reset. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

Thanks for your reply but that did not do it.
Check Settings > Notification Center > Phone. Make sure Alerts are "On." Make sure the alert sound is set to the ring sound you would like.
Thanks sberman. Now it rings. I don't know what I did to change that but I'm glad it's working the way I want again.

My wife had the same problem for months on her iPhone 5S and I researched tons of websites and tried EVERYTHING to fix it, including updating the OS. The problem was the LifeProof protective case which has a cover over the ring / silent switch on the side. I think that over time the design of this cover slowly moves the switch back to the "Ringer Off" position, or that it moves the Ringer switch to a middle "limbo" position that is neither on nor off. Once I moved it decidedly to the "On" position, the phone would ring again. Let me know if this works for you.

Problem solved, thanks for your help. I could not figure out why the ringer was not working. I was using an Otterbox.
AWESOME.. i sat here for a sec and said "DUH" .. that is exactly what was wrong .. my cover inadvertently shut the ringer off. Thank you much !
