External Hard Drive Problem

Hello Everyone, and thank you in advance for your help.

I have tried searching for an existing answer but could not find anything specific to my issue.

Basically, I have an external hard drive I've been using for months with ZERO issues.

Literally overnight, I wake up my computer from sleep, and all of the sudden I cannot write to my hard drive.

I can still read it, and oddly enough, when i go to "get info", it tells me that my user account has read & write access (however I CANNOT write).

Also, everything at the bottom of "get info" is greyed out. Even when I "unlock" the folder by putting in my password, everything is still greyed out.

I cannot add or subtract any users, and the gear/pulldown menu is greyed out.

When I click or unclick "Ignore ownership on this volume", it does not change anything

I have attached a screen shot of my external hard drive's "get info" screen.

Thanks!!!User uploaded file

Go to Disk Utility > Click on the external drive > Verify Disk > Repair Disk > Verify Permissions > Repair Permissions.

See if that helps. 🙂

Otherwise, can you try it on another computer?
