Q: DVD drives for a PowerMac G4

In a previouse post I was trying to find out why I could not install OS Tiger to a computer with a new hard drive and no existing OS found out it has a CD drive not DVD so in search of a single layer DVD drive I can not find any ony the single/duel layer drives. with the PowerMac G4 being an older model would this drive work? .....DVD-RAM Drive IDE 3.5" for Power Mac G3 & G4 661-2162:

The model of My PowerMac G4 is (M5183)

If this wont work can someone direct me to one that will?

Nobody makes IDE Opticals anymore, just SATA, but eBay has some...

Try this:
LG GH24NSB0B 'Super-MultiDrive' DVD DL/CD Internal... in stock at OWC

Probably not your only option, but like BD says, nobody makes IDE any more (and the drive you mentioned is DVD-RAM, not a SuperDrive)
