Adobe Flash player not working for macbook pro

I have just recently switched from an ultrabook to a macbook pro and I'm having some problems since this is the first time I have owned a mac. I have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Flash player but whenever I use safari and try to watch a video on youtube or any other website it tells me that I need to download the latest version of flash player. This only happens when I use safari, it works just fine on chrome. I have restarted my computer several times but that doesn't do anything. I have installed and uninstalled flash player several times but that doesn't do anything also. I have checked if the flash player plug-in is on my internet plug-ins folder and it is and the internet plug ins are not blocked on my safari preferences. This isn't the frst time that this has hapenned to me, when I first downloaded flah player I had the same problem but unfortunately I forgot how I fixed the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem, I'm getting really annoyed by this since I never had this kind problem with my old ultrabook. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I'm new to the mac world so specific answer would be prefered since I'm still trying to get used to the format of a mac.

1st) Click on the apple at the top left corner of your screen. Fourth option down, system preferences click this. Once system preferences opens up adobe flashplayer should be listed on the very bottom row, click this. Once adobe preferences are open make sure you are on the storage tab (listed accross the top), make sure "allow site to save information on this computer" is bulleted. Next click on the "local storage settings by site...". Once you click that, check to see if youtube.com is listed in the box. If not then click the + symbol at the bottom left. Manually enter www.youtube.com. Close out of everything.

2nd) Launch safari, look to the very top left corner of your screen. You'll see the word "Safari" just to the right of the Apple logo, click on this and go down to preferences. Next, go to the security tab accross the top. Make sure there is a tick/check mark in the "Allow Plug-ins" option. If it is, click "Manage website settings...". Then on the left-hand column select Flash Player. Then off to the right-hand pane, make sure that youtube.com is listed and that its set to Allow. Quit and re-open Safari.

All of these steps or at least some portion of this should get it operational. If not, post back... more things we can do.
