Kernel_task size

I see that the Kernel_task size is very big .

What does it mean ?

I have an iMac with Fusion Drive and 2 external HD connected .

Is it OK ?

Totally normal for a 16GB machine. On my 32GB mac pro I run around 1.7GB for the kernel image. The mac knows how much memory you have and how to best use it.
