It was at 10% battery at the time and it shut down immediately. Help! I am lost without my phone. I use it constantly.

What do you expect us to do here? Your phone is not waterproof. It is damaged. Buy a new phone or go to an Apple store for an out of warranty replacement.
Not very helpful... and kinda rude. I was looking for tips on drying it out. 😐 Never mind Ive already made an appoinmernt with apple service.
I was being direct and realistic. You did not say your were looking for tips for drying it out. You said the phone died which by logic implies it is damaged.
Take it to Apple. They will tell you excatly what I have already told you: the damage is not covered by warranty and they will give you the option of an out of warranty replacement.
