Preview Locks Down with Same .eps File Names Open

I have noticed a consistent bug in Preview on OS X 10.7.5 that causes it to lock down.

Let's say you have two directories:

~/d1

~/d2

In each directory, you have an .eps file with the same name:

~/d1/foo.eps

~/d2/foo.eps

You open ~/d1/foo.eps in Preview, which converts it and opens it. You next open ~/d2/foo.eps without doing anything else (not closing conversion window, not minimizing, etc.).

Voila, your Preview is now not responding. Any help with this bug? It has been very frustrating since I have many of these directories and files, and I need to do comparisons between them.
