Your apple id cant be used to setup imessage at this time

imessages and facetime stopped working on my macbook pro. It used to work earlier but for some unknown reason it says my apple id cant be used to setup imessage and i need to contact support.


Not sure why has this happened.


has this happened to anyone else. How did you guys resolve.


Your help is highly appreciated.


P.S. I am not able to contact support because my working hours coincide with theirs. User uploaded file

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

I have now successfully rectified the problem by speaking with customer care.


Only those guys on the other end of the phone can rectify this. They said its just a security thing and so they can confirm it over the phone and activate it while you are on the call.


Use the link below to schedule an appointment and so apple can call you instead of you calling them.

P.S. Chat option is of no use as they can't help you to correct this on chat and will ask you to contact support.


Hope this is helpful to all of those facing this problem. Its a quick call and can only take less than 5 minutes and i believe its worth it.
