Why won't this one song sync to my iPhone playlist?

Hello Community! I downloaded a song from iTunes to my laptop and put it in a specific playlist. When I synched my iPhone however the song won't show up on my playlist, even though other songs I downloaded and added that day did. What do I do? I've tried synching again, rebooted, etc. etc. and nothing seems to work.
