Need help adjusting setting none of my ports reads any devices

none of my external hard drive open up

will not connect to tv, I am using Thunderbolt also HDMI cable that works. My phone connects so I am not sure

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Hi,

What have you tried ?

I would start with a basic Restart of the computer.

If that fails then Restart but hold down the CMD+ALT+P+R keys at the same time until you have heard three start up "Bongs".
