Guys & Girls,

Just got a new 3.2 MHz iMac. There is an oblong button that is hidden beneith the head of power cord when it is plugged into the body of the computer. What is it's function?

Thanks, Phil

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), 8 Gb Ram, Internal 1Tb, External 250 Gb.

Stranger still....

After checking KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5540 it states in part, "Open the memory compartment door by pressing the small gray button located just above the AC power port."

I do not have a button. It's a slot & it's below the RAM door not above it. Must be a difference between the backs of the 2012 & 2013 new iMacs. Since I "tried" (another story) to install RAM when I got it, all I did was push the RAM door & it popped right on out! That was the easy part.
