Rescan USB-device after accidental removal

I have a quick question... I have two external drives, both connected by USB. Once in a while I click moronically and eject one of them.

They are situated in a rather difficult to reach location and I have to turn it off and on again to 'reinsert' it into the system.

Isn't there a simpler way to say... rescan the USB bus or something? From the Terminal perhaps?
