iTunes update 11.1.5 causing crash during music import?

I coudn't find this problem being mentioned anywhere else but since I updated to 11.1.5 (which was last week), whenever I drag music files into my iTunes to import them the whole thing freezes and I get the spinning beach ball.

What's going on and has anyone else experienced this? This has never happened before and it makes using iTunes impossible. Not happy with this update at all, wish I could go back to 11.1.4. 😟
