what is ITUNES GIFT CARD CODE?

No App Store without an iTunes gift card or iTunes Gifts code. I'm not buying something just to use the App Store on an app based device! Seems kinda sketchy to me.

You do NOT have to fill in the gift card field, it's optional

It is optional, you do not have to fill it in - and depending upon what country that you are in you might not be able to fill it in anyway, iTunes gift cards aren't available in all countries

I have checked email and everything but nothing

Why you are expecting to get an email with a gift card number in it ? Have you bought a card an online store ?

If they are available in your country (iTunes gift cards are country-specific, they can only be used in their country of issue ; and you have to be in a country to use its store) then you could buy one

Looks like It is not optional.

I fill all the information and there is still "Correct the information highlighted in red".The only thing that is not filled is this itunes code.There is nothing highlighted in any color.

I don't have an itunes gift card

What exactly are you doing (logging into an account, trying to download something, ... ) and what are you seeing on the screen ?

The gift card field is optional on an account, you do not have to fill it in - and as iTunes gift cards are no available in all countries you may not be able to fill it in anyway.

So I have this iPad mini. I created a new apple id for myself . And now when I try to add it to my iTunes it asks me to review my account. Then I get to this screen where I have to put in my credit card info and a code...so I bought a 25$ gift card.. But then it just says contact customer support

If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this page (we are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know why you are getting the message) :

- go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww

- click on your country's flag

- click on the Contact Support at the bottom of the left-hand column

- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

- then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

The field is optional. Unless you've bought yourself a gift card, or somebody has gifted you one, you won't receive an email - you don't get one just for creating an account
