Q: Connecting iPhone 5 to Itunes 11.1.5.5

I've just updated iTunes and when I went to sync my phone it does nothing for about a minute and then a box comes up with the message "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because the device has timed out".

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.6
