Can't login to Game Center

So whenever I try to login to Game Center I enter my details but then it just says that there was an error because local player has not been authenticated. So whenever I want to use Game Center or play a game that is connected to it I have to restart my Mac and then quickly open Game Center or the game I want to play within 30 seconds of restarting. However it works perfectly on my iPad for some reason. It's really frustrating and it'll be great if someone could help me out.
