will i lose everything on my iPhone 4 if i don't have it synced with the macbook that i purchased the album on?

i downloaded an album on my MacBook pro. my Iphone 4 is synced with my Mac desktop. If i turn on my automatic downloads for music on my phones settings will i lose everything on my phone when i plug it into my Mac desktop later?

No.

Turning on Automatic Downloads for Music on your iPhone after the fact will do nothing, but you can download the music direct on your iPhone or enable Home Sharing with your computers at home and you can transfer the album from your iTunes library on the MBP to your iTunes library on the Mac Desktop.
