With the ios 7 upgrade, why do I need to login to update apps?

Back in the latter versions of ios 6, I no longer had to login every time I updated an app. Now that I've made the leap to ios 7, I have to log in every time I want to update apps again. Is there any way around this and/or why would this be back?
