Iphone4 not recognised in itunes / cd registry reinstall message. Help!
Hi All,
I've not been able to connect my iphone4 to my PC ever since I moved up to itunes 11. Since moving up to itunes11 my PC only recognises my iphone as a camera and has also rendered my pc's CD writer unusable.
I have followed so many suggestions from the forum: I have tried the following things countless times over the last few months:
For itunes/pc to recognise the iphone:
- uninstalling all apple software in the recommended order and then re-installing it (done at least six times over the past six months)
- purchasing a new apple issue USB connector
- installing and uninstalling the USB drivers
- disabling and re-enabling the mobile device support
- deleting received photos and files and reconnecting, following many of the above steps again
- taking screenshots and reconnecting the iphone to the pc thereafter, following the same issues with drivers etc
- running diagnostics
For the CD burner message:
- adding and removing upper registry settings (which when I do removes the error message regarding the CD burn registry but leaves the entire CD player completely unuseable, and still does not solve the problem when trying to burn a cd in itunes. (when i dont add any registry details i can still easily import Cds to itunes, just not burn anything)
- connecting to itunes without internet connection
I have been using this PC and itunes without issue prior to itunes 11 and in fact, have had no issues for years, but now I can't connect my phone AT ALL, and although I have been gifted an iphone 5, i cant connect that either
If anyone can suggest anything other than the above listed things that I have tried doing so many times I would really appreciate it.
