my volume doesnt work. the volume slider disappeared, i cant hear anything

so out of no where i couldnt hear anything . my volume slider has disappeared and i cant hear my music , i cant hear anything . when i go to settings to the sound section and adjust it i go back to home screen & it disappears right when i go back to home screen . i cleaned my dock and headphone jack also & still isnt working
