Final Cut and iMovie

I've been finding with these new updates of consoildation, that iMovie and FCP are incompatible. I realize it's an illusion however, it's certainly annoying. Why when I import video off my camera to iMovie can I not bring it into FCP?? Before these updates it was easy. Now when I go to import media my "Library" and "FCP" Library are un-highlighted... what's an easy way to gain access to my media? What am I doing wrong?

I also used to be able to just drag movies out of iMovie folders of which I cannot do anymore. Honestly ***?? hahaha
