quadro or ati?

I'm planning on buying a mac pro and i can't decide wether i should get a quadro or ati graphics card. I will mainly be using this to do work in maya, photoshop, etc. but i would like to know if the quadro would deliver the same gaming performance as the ati cards or 4x 7300 cards?

also, would i be able to say... replace the cards with 4 comercial 7950 cards?

Thanks

to my knowledge the 7300s that are included can't be used in any SLI setup, thereby making 2+ useless for gaming as all it does is allow for the extra konitors (and obviosuly rendering per card to monitor attached). if you are usign it for real maya work and related (ie: pro workstation) id say grab the quadro if you can justify it. if its average use grab a x1900 in my books

User uploaded fileIf you are after the absolute best performance you will need to go with the Nvidia Quadro 4500FX. Otherwise, I think for most who want the best performance for the best value for money you can't go past the ATI X1900XT. The X1900XT is near in performance to the Quadro and no where near the price.

Having more graphics cards will in no way add performance to each other so there is no benefit to having four Nvidia 7300GTs… or any other card for that matter.
