I have macbook pro 5,5 (mid 2009) and need to create a flash drive with mac os but I don't know which mac os I need, help please?
Right now the computer has mac os x 10.6.8 snow leopard
If you upgrade to the latest version, you might experience a shortage in RAM so if you got 4 you will be ok, but less would not be a good idea
Since you do not indicate which OSX you want to have a USB drive for, here are a couple of links with instructions (10.5 through 10.9):

I had an installation dvd of mac os 10.6.4 and it didn't work, I couldn't format and reinstall the computer.
Now I don't have any way to get another installation dvd so my only chance is to create a flash drive, but I still don't know myself which OS I need to have on the flash drive in order for it to work :\
