Consolidating calendars
I have about 4 calendars .. How do I consolidate them ?
And then do I make sure I remove the extra ones ???

There is no way to programatically merge iCloud calendars en mass. You would need to do so manually by editing each event).
Once a given calendar is empty (or no longer needed), in the calendar app:
- Tap Calendars (bottom of screen)
- Tap the calendar in question
- Scroll down in the pop up
- Tap Delete Calendar.
