iPad - WiFi Hotspots NOT visible

Just recently a first gen iPad stopped seeing any WiFi hotspots, pressing other and typing in the name, security, and password does not work either. I have tried it at work and it does not see the dozen different WAPs that are available, same at every other location. I have tried turning it off, shutting it down, shutting it down using the home and power button. Going to General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and after it recycles it still does not see any WiFi location. The device is active on the AT&T network and has no connectivity issues with AT&T. Besides using paid bandwidth all the time I am also unable to update apps over 100MB using the cellular, but I'm guessing connecting it to iTunes would probably work.

All other iOS devices tested can see all available WiFi networks.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Device details:

first gen 64GB 3G iPad, model MC497LL, iOS version 5.1.1 (9B206) on AT&T

Thank you,

Danny
