User troubleshooting after the reset is to do a restore from backup and then a restore as a new device if necessary. If that does not do it, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar or Authorized Apple Service Provider depending on your location.

I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid with the full Navigation system and my iPhone 5S with iOS 7.1 pairs just fine. As a matter of fact, I did not even have to re-pair the device when I updated from the last iOS.

Mate I had the same problem with my Chrysler whereby it wouldnt pair properly. here is the workaround for iphone ios7.1 update bluetooth uconnect problems

1 slide up control centre on the iphone (from the bottom of the screen just swipe up)

2 turnoff airdrop

3 delete from uconnect (or whatever you have in your Car) your iphone

4 switch off car and make sure your car is off

5 get back in car, make sure your bluetooth on iphone is on, restart acc or just start your car

6 go through the pairing process again.

as long as you dont use airdrop you should be okay this worked for me i hope it works for you

Well I bit the bullet and did a full software restore to attempt to fix my Bluetooth problems. That went OK, but when I went to restore from the back-up (done 30min before) I couldn't as it said that the back-up was corupt.

So an entire day was spent rebuilding my apps, files, contacts and preferences as a new phone.

Try to connect to Bluetooth and no luck!!! My iPhone 4s can't detect either my car Bluetooth or the Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro... and visa versa.

All other functions (cable connection, WiFi etc) seem to work OK.

This is not doing my blood pressure much good!

"Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings then re-pair with the devices."

This DID work for me, at least with my JBL Flip portable bluetooth speaker. But initially I had the same issues. With the device in pairing mode and close by, the iphone would not connect to it.

I have a few other Bluetooth devices to try pairing up, including a portable GPS reciever and Ford's SYNC.

I have the same problem, after installing IOS 7.1 my 4s stopped 'detecting' any Bluetooth devices. After trying EVERYTHING I went to an Apple service agent and they told me that complete failure of either/or Bluetooth - WiFi following IOS update was a known issue especially on iPhone 4s, and that there was no fix as it was a hardware failure.

There suggestion - a new phone.

Seems to me it cannot be a hardware failure...!

I am still able to connect to a bluetoothLE-device, if the pairing is initiated from "the other" device (like my MBP). And then the bluetooth radio does see my paired device...

There is someting in scanning services the bluetoothLE does when enabled that fails. It will scanForPeripheralsWithServices, But is seems somewhere in this trajectory, the devices are either not detected / connected / handled correctly, or no information is send via services CoreBluetooth. That is hard to check as it does not work :(

Hope there will be a solution soon!!!

Same bluetooth problems, but different symptoms. I haven't seen anybody with these issues yet:

Before update to iOS 7.1, bluetooth worked fine in my car on the handsfree ('09 Infiniti G37x).

After update, whenever my phone wakes up due to an email, text, anything that is enough of an event to wake the screen up, my car goes into handsfree mode like the phone is going to say something (as it would if Siri were trying to communicate w/ me over bluetooth), but the phone won't "hang up" the car stereo until I hit the sleep/wake button on the top of the phone. At that point, it "drops" the car audio.

So something like this happens: Email comes in, phone dings, screen wakes up, stereo interrupts music as phone connects to it, nothing comes over the audio from the phone. I see the option to "hang up" on the car display, but hitting that doesn't break the connection. Only after hitting the "sleep" button on the top of the phone does the connection break and the car audio come back on.

I believe that if I wait long enough and the phone screen powers down itself, the connection will break then.

Weirdest thing, but easily reproducable for me.

I just got a new 5s and it cannto find the blue tooth in my 2012 Maxima. The previous 4s had no problems and connected without difficulty. Now the lower volume button does not work, and I have had this phone for only 4 days, and I am told it has to be completely replaced. Before I get a 5s replacement, I want to know IF it can find blue tooth in my vehicel. This is a must for me as I am on the road frequently. Any Advice??

Hi Chris, you seem to have some insight to Apple issues.

My Mazda 2012 CX9 GT with SatNav stopped connecting to my iPhone 5C with ISO 7.1.1, I have attempted the following to reconnect but no luck. 1st removed iPhone from Mazda and forget divice from iphone. when through connection procedure - no luck. Reset phone - recovered info from my account. followed connection - no good. returned iphone to factory settings - when through pairing - voice control, plus screen prompts - neighter worked. Took the battery conection off the car - then connected again - same result. I followed all the above options to reset network - still nothing. Went to Apple store twice, last visit was to tell me that as the phone will bluetooth with their in store speaker system and play music - then it must be my car system. Forget that the iPhone was working fine until a few weeks back. I don't know if it is due to ISO 7.1.1 update. After forgetting the devise and refresh the car system by removing all paired devices, the iPhone 5C ISO 7.1.1 will see the Mazda, but when I hit the pair and follow prompts to enter pairing code, the iPhone go through the connection process and looks to connect, but it then returns to Not Connected on the iPhone and the car system says Pairing Failed. Then when placing the car into add new device mode and touching the Not Connected in the iPhone, it goes through the connecting process, but fails again, the iPhone then tells me that the Mazda is not in range, or is not turned on - in other words it can not see the car at all.

My BlackBerry connects fine and my iPad ISO 7.1.1 also connects. My friends 5S connects to my Mazda, albeit it was an awarkward connection, took a while for the iPhone to see the Mazda, but it did end up connecting and was able to make calls and play music.

I'm heading off to Mazda in the week to see if they have a reset function. The 2nd guy I saw in the Apple store - Genius guy said that it may be the unique bluetooth code for the iPhone and Mazda may have an issue with each other and to see if Mazda can re-set the cars system. In Australia it is a $433, plus loss of 4 demerit points. We only have 12 points for 3 years and once used it is loss of driving license. I will update this feed with my outcome. So frustrating and for an iPhone that is only <10 weeks old and was working fine for 6 or so weeks - not good.

Try one more thing before going in:

On your iPhone: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

On your call clear all previous pairings with anything.

Make sure Bluetooth is off on the iPad, Blackberry, friends phone, or anything else that has Bluetooth near your car.

Put the car in pairing mode and try again.

Thanks for that, no good, I ended up taking the car into Mazda, spent a few hours there, they pulled everything apart. Although they could pair other iPhones, they still had issues. They ordered in another Bluetooth module, called me back in a few days, replaced it and now all phones are working well. Can't complain about Mazda, they did all of it under warranty. A lot better service than I thought I would get, because the Blackberry worked every time. They said the unit was confused with the Apple stuff.
