I have an apple keyboard that I use with my ipad. I am also trying to use it with my PC running windows 7. It works well, however if I haven't typed for a short while, even for a minute or so; it does not recognice the first letter of the first word. It is really annoying, any clues as to how I can fix it?

Thanks for this. It isn't the computer though, as it will happen very quickly. For example I can type in a web address, then look up to read the web page for 20 seconds or so, then if I type again it will miss the first key stroke.
I am starting to get used to typing the first letter twice!
I can see that it is a widely reported issue with Apple Macs, but I can't find a fix for Windows. I am keen not to have to buy a new keyboard!

It sounds like the computer may be going to sleep. Then when you type the first letter it acts to wake the computer rather than typing the letter. Subsequent keystrokes type letters as normal since the computer is then awake. Try moving your mouse to wake the computer, then type using the keyboard.

I went ahead and bought a new keyboard from Anker, only to find the same problem existed!
It did help though as I found the solution via keyword seaches based on the new keyboard.
In Windows 7 go into the device manager, look for the bluetooth adaptor, then go into power management settings and turn off power saving. Simple!

Just as I said in my post above. The computer was going to sleep and the first stroke of the keyboard woke up the computer and the second stroke typed the second letter. I imagine, since you did not say, that you turned off or modified the computer sleep settings (power saving) in power management.

Thanks for your help. No it was not the computer going to sleep, I think my message was clear about this. It was the power management settings of the bluetooth adaptor and I modified this as I described. I did not adjust the computer sleep settings in power managment as you suggest.
