Q: problem with facetime

Are you sure you are using the correct email address or phone number associated with each others Facetime to make the call?

You can go to Settings->Facetime->Send / Receive->You can be Reached by Facetime At:

Make sure the address you are using to start the call matches the one you have setup there.
