Q: Touch ID doesn't work after iOS 7.1 Update

More to the point, it is a HARDWARE problem with your phone specifically (and some others). I just tried heating my 5S with a hair dryer, and heating my finger also. Then I tried chilling both. And combinations of both (hot finger, cold phone; cold finger, hot phone). And my Touch ID worked perfectly on the first touch for every configuration. If I had the problem you have I would get Apple to replace it (which they will). It's covered by warranty. Why don't you want to get the service you are entitled to?

What do you say to people like us who dont have Apple stores in the country and if we are to claim we gotta travel to singapoor or some other country ? So only hope is Apple bringing an iOS update or we somehow managing to downdrade to iOS 7.0.6

That's right. Its the update that broke the hardware so apple must find the cause and fix this cause who knows if the next update will not do the same.

Only thing that could literally fix my Touch ID is a software update from Apple if not i gotta use this as simply like an "iPhone 5". So much for the money Apple !!! Thank you !!!

and just to let you guys know mine is an 16GB Silver model. How about you guys ?

Black (Spacegray) 64GB Model A1457. It seems to go through all Versions that I had in my hand (16, 32, 64GB as well as some US-Versions)

There is no point in waiting; your phone has a hardware defect that was aggravated by 7.1. Take your phone to an Apple store and they will replace it with one that works.

Brother , we don't have apple store in our country , i bought my iPhone 5s from USA and then i'm here in united arab emirates and there is NO apple store here, we don't have any solution exept software update with fix

Replacing the phone is the only solution. If your country has an Apple-supported carrier then they also have local service, either through the carrier or an independent repair provider. That's where you go.

If your country has no officially supported carrier you will have to go to the country where you purchased the phone.

If you made the mistake of purchasing an iPhone in a different country than the country where you are using the phone then you must face the consequences of your error.

That's the risk you take when you buy an iPhone from a different country than where you plan to use it. UAE has 2 supported carriers who also provide service for the phone. If you bought the phone from one of them there would be no issue. Perhaps one of them will even fix your gray market phone. But probably not.

You don't fix hardware with software.

Do you have any official statement by Apple that this is a hardware issue? If so, enlighten us!
