if I block someone on iMessage will my phone still send read reciepts

Yeah I was wondering the same thing so me and my friend just tested it out. We both have our read receipts on and I sent her a message and had her open it next to me so I could see how fast the read recipt came on, which was instantly. So I sent her another message and after I saw the message was delivered, I blocked her. She opened the message and the read recipt did not come on.

If they are blocked you should not receive iMessage so there will b no read receipt because nothing is received (ie they are blocked from sending you messages)

What if you sent a person a text message and you both use read receipts then you blocked them before they read your text when they do read your text will it show as read when you go back and look at the text you sent them in your text conversation?

No my question is if I text you and you haven't read my text yet then I block you and then later you go to read my text can I see that you have read it with the read receipt function on both my phone and you the blocked persons phone?

If you sent a text with read receipt on but before they opened it, you turned off read receipt, it should not show a read receipt. I believe that was your question Jenn907...just be careful about hijacking a thread from the original post.

If you've blocked them, their message never goes through. So there's nothing for you to read. So there will never be a read receipt.
